COMPONENTS

There are seven major components to the Conservation Connections program, each accessed by a toolbar button on the main form
  • Login:

When you start Conservation Connections you are automatically given the Login screen into which you enter your username and password. Doing so gives you access to the features of the program that you have been authorized by your Conservation Connections administrator to use. If the computer is already logged into Conservation Connections, another user can click the Login button to obtain their own access to the program's features.
  • Parcels:

Provides lists of the various parcels, of potentially several types, that are being managed within Conservation Connections. From that list form, you can GO to any parcel to see the detailed information and add or update information. Or you can set up a new parcel.
  • Contacts:

Provides details about every person or organization that has some current or past role they have played with one or more parcels. Typical examples of roles are: Steward, Land Agent, Original Grantor, Current Owner, Executory Interest, etc. You can set up roles that make sense to you in your organization.
  • Protected Lands:

Gives a quick snapshot of the total number of parcels and acres for each of several types of parcel, with totals for the organization. It's great for answering the quick question that is asked frequently: "Exactly how much property to we have under our protection -- right now?"
  • Add/Change:

Provides forms where you can set up and change the contents of different dropdown lists. Examples: Parcel Roles, Skills, Towns, Counties, etc.
  • Security:

Allows the Conservation Connections administrator to set up security permissions for each major component of the software for each user. Some users may have both read and write permission for a particular component, others may have read-only permission, and others may have no permission to use the component
  • Exit:

Simply exits from the program back to Windows.
